![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I predict that this was due to my sub-conscious preventing me from coming to the inevitable and heart-breaking end (for now) to the series, as there are only three books currently out. I read Exit Unicorns (book one in the Exit Unicorns series) quite a while ago, and it actually took me a bit of time to pick up the second book in her series, Mermaid in a Bowl of Tears. Not only did I read a truly remarkable book, I read a truly remarkable series, by a truly remarkable author.Ĭindy Brandner's Exit Unicorns series scratched my itch. I was lucky enough to find that recently. Have you ever gone through a reading drought where nothing can satisfy that escapism emptiness you need filled? Remarkable to the point where you feel as if you won't be completely sated until you convert all of your friends into avid readers of this particular story? ![]()

It's also famous. Partly this is because it became a film starring perhaps the most famous romantic male lead of the silent period, Rudolf Valentino. The Sheik is still a somewhat famous and also somewhat notorious novel. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() She is truly wonderful, even after her introduction you just know that she is Miss Marple. Straight away Joan Hickson shows us why she is the definitive Miss Marple, endorsed by Agatha Christie herself, she'd play the role from 1984 - 1992 and make it her own. This version mirrors the book in so many ways, it's a truly faithful adaptation, as the saying goes 'if it ain't broke don't fix it.' I understand that a few elements are missed, but it would have been impractical to attempt to squeeze it all in. ![]() Somehow she seems unreal, Dolly Bantry seeks the help of her friend Jane Marple, and the pair seek to unravel the mystery, enquiries lead them to the seaside. The sleepy peaceful home of the Bantry's is woken to the shattering news that the body of a young platinum blond woman has been found in the Library. ![]() ![]() ![]() An amazing 50 first timers joined us and 32 runners got new PB's, including our Tailrunner Quaid Ali!
